Chocolate Wafers/Andruty

The taste from childhood, thin wafers filled with cocoa and coconut. They disappear so quickly because children and adults both love them. If you have additional time, you can cover them with chocolate. They are so easy to make and yet so irresistible.

Ingredients

  • 1 Package Wafers Preferably square ones from the Polish deli store
  • 1 Package Shredded coconut Unsweeteded
  • 1 Stick Unsalted Butter (113 g)
  • 1 tbs Baking cocoa (Dark cocoa)
  • 2 small cans Condensed Milk (325 g)

Instructions

  • Remove the paper label off the cans. Place both cans of condensed milk in a pot of water making sure both cans are immersed in water. Bring the water to boil, cover and simmer over low heat for 2 hours. Be careful they will be very hot. Once cooled place the contents of the cans to a blender adding butter, coconut flakes and cocoa. Mix all together well. Now spread some of the mixture on to the first waffle then the second and spread some mixture, by making sure it covers the entire waffle. Stacking them on top of each other. Do not place any mixture on the top of the last waffle.
  • Now wrap the waffles with a plastic wrap tightly and place in a refrigerator to set. Best to place a board on top of the wafers with something heavy e.g pot of water for at least an hour. Cut into pieces of any size. Makes about 30 pieces.
  • You may store them in a plastic container with a cover in a cool place.
    Enjoy and SMACZNEGO!
