Carrots with Green Peas / Marchewka z Groszkiem

The recipe is extremely simple and the dish itself is tasty and healthy. It is served hot as an addition to dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg carrots
  • 425 g sweet peas (1 can)
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flours
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 250 ml water

Instructions

  • Wash and peel carrots. Then cut them in half lengthwise and lengthwise if necessary to get carrot sticks roughly similar in thickness. Cut carrots in to small cubes.
  • Place the diced carrot in a pot. Pour water over the diced carrots. Place sugar and salt. 
  • Stir the carrots. Cover the pot with a lid. Place over medium heat, as soon as the carrots starts to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes until carrots is tender. When tender add butter to the soft carrot. Sift flour into the carrot using a strainer. At the same time, slowly stir in a saucepan so that no lumps of flour form. 
  • Finally, add drained sweet peas. Mix everything and taste. Add some sugar or salt as needed. Carrots can be very sweet, but they may also not have sweetness and you have to slightly sweeten it. Serve hot. Enjoy!
