Cubed Steak in Mushroom and Onion Gravy/ Stek Wolowy w Socie Grzybowym z Cebula
Cube steak with mushroom gravy and onion is a hearty family dinner and relatively inexpensive. Looks like a lot of steps, but this meal is absolutely simple, quick to make, and full of flavor. I usually serve it with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli or carrots but just tried a different way and it was a great dinner.

- 4 cube steaks
- 3 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1 large onion sliced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 tbsp butter divided
- 8 oz white mushrooms
- 3 cloves garlic diced finally
- 250 ml beef broth
Place flour in shallow dish. Add steaks, 1 or 2 at a time, and turn to coat completely.
In a skillet, cook steaks in butter until lightly browned on each side. Remove steaks from pan when browned and set aside.
Add second half butter to pan and melt.
Add onions and mushrooms and saute over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft and mushrooms are slightly brown.
Add garlic and cook until soft. Add steaks.
Stir in beef stock slowly.
Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for about 45 minutes stirring occasionally. The gravy should have thickened by now.
Toss in gravy to coat. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
