Mashed Potatoes Polish Style / Ziemniaki Tłuczone z Masłem i Mlekiem
Potatoes are still one of the most popular elements of a Polish dinner. And although a lot of unflattering myths have arisen around them, it is worth eating them regularly. They provide a lot of valuable nutrients and leave a feeling of fullness after a meal for a long time. They consist of starch, i.e. complex carbohydrates, so they do not cause rapid spikes in blood glucose and can be eaten even by diabetics. Potatoes also contain a lot of potassium, calcium and B vitamins, as well as substances that lower blood pressure. Everyone has their preferred style for cooking potatoes. This is the very basic recipe for the mashed potatoes the Polish style.

Ingredients
- 8 medium yellow or red potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch dill (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Peel and wash potatoes. Fill the pot with enough water to cover the potatoes. Cook on high heat until the water boils. Once the water boils turn down to low heat and let simmer.
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender.
- Drain, mash with a potato masher.
- Add butter and milk. Mix all well until creamy consistency forms.
- Scoop potatoes onto a plate. Serve sprinkled with fresh dill. Enjoy!
